According to IoT analyst firm Berg Insight, there were a total of 4,700 private LTE/5G networks deployed across the world at the end of 2024, excluding PoC projects. In December 5G Americas and Omdia found that global 5G connections reached the two billion mark in 2024 and predicted that 5G connections will reach 8.4 billion by 2029, accounting for 59% of all global wireless technologies.
