14 December 2020 - Telecom26 has been shortlisted in the AppsAfrica.com Innovation Awards 2020 for providing IoT connectivity To TB, HIV, Ebola and COVID-19 testing programmes run by our customer SystemOne in Ghana, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
The sixth AppsAfrica Innovation Awards celebrate technology and mobile applications from across Africa showcasing the continent’s best innovations. This year the awards attracted over 500 submissions from 51 countries with entries from start-ups, established ventures and corporates. The entries were judged by an independent panel of industry experts including media, investors, and leaders from the tech ecosystem.
Telecom26 is shortlisted in the Health Tech category which recognises that “Innovation within health technology continues to transform the way we care for our health”. This award “celebrates companies that have used technology and innovation to create and implement life changing and life-saving health services in Africa”.
Shortlisted alongside Telecom26 are:
- Envisionit Deep AI (South Africa / UK)
- Flare (Kenya)
- 54gene (Nigeria)
- Wekebere (Uganda)
This is the second major award that Telecom26 has been shortlisted for in 2020. Last month we were recognised for our work to tackle COVID in Africa at the prestigious AfricaCom awards which recognise the contribution to society made by Africa’s tech community. We lost to Huawei which is no mean feat!
