As eSIMs continue to replace physical SIMs, Telecom26 and Trasna today announced that they have developed the industry’s most comprehensive eSIM management solution which enables router manufacturers to offer their customers an efficient and user-friendly way to manage their eSIMs on their existing SIM-based devices.
According to the GSMA Intelligence report “eSIM: State of the consumer market and the road ahead by 2025”, 2.4 billion smartphone connections will use eSIMs globally by 2025. Juniper Research’s figures are even more positive with the company estimating that the number of eSIMs installed in connected devices will rise from 1.2bn in 2021, to 3.4bn in 2025, a 180% increase.
Key to the success of continued eSIM adoption by router manufacturers will be the ability for organisations to remotely manage the connectivity and service levels available to individual eSIMs.
Trasna is a leading supplier of SIM Cards and industrial SIM modules supporting both UICC and eUICC. Meanwhile Telecom26 is enabling its customers to move from physical SIMs to eSIMs with most interest so far from its maritime customers. Its R&D team has developed a Local Profile Assistant on device (LPAd) which will now be integrated with Trasna’s eUICC SIMs.
Benedikt Leisten, COO, Trasna Solutions said “Together Trasna and Telecom26 have brought a new level of efficiency and convenience to the world of eSIM management – and are offering router manufacturers a competitive edge in a market where ease of use and customer satisfaction is of utmost importance.
The partnership between Trasna Solutions GmbH and Telecom26 could be important in the context of the rapidly growing market for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, as well as the increasing demand for eSIMs in the IoT and connected devices space.”
David McCanny, Head of Product, Telecom26 said “The integration of Trasna's eUICC and Telecom26's LPAd brings eSIM connectivity to new and existing routers and has the potential to drive growth in the industry.
We’re excited to be working with Trasna to bring the flexibility of eSIM to existing mobile routers. Telecom26’s Local Profile Assistant on device (LPAd) enables routers to load and manage multiple eSIM profiles onto Trasna’s eUICC SIM Cards. This will bring mobile data users the same flexibility and resilience of eSIM based data connectivity that has, up to now, been reserved for mobile phones.”
