As a provider of global connectivity and maritime connectivity, Telecom26 can customise its services to meet the specific needs and budgets of our customers. However, all our global and maritime connectivity services come with a powerful suite of inclusive features that deliver the best connectivity for our customers. These can also be supplemented by a wide range of extensions and add-ons which we will discuss in future blogs.
Our standard mobile services includes:
- OTA Encryption
- Mutual Authentication
- Multi-Factor Authentication
- Network Function Virtualisation
- Secure Connectivity
- APIs
- SIM Blocking
- Multi-IMSI support
- SIM jacker protection
- IMEI lock
The benefits of the first five features are discussed below and we will cover the remaining five in our next blog.
OTA encryption for secure remote updates and configuration
Telecom26 supports encryption of OTA (Over The Air) messages to subscriber SIMs and eSIMs. These are generally used to update configurations and device settings.
Encryption is compliant to GSMA and GlobalPlatform standards, ensuring protection and adherence to best practice. The SCP80 (Secure Channel Protocol) is used with 128-bit AES encryption keys.
Benefits
- Secure OTA messages that cannot be intercepted or manipulated
- Tamper-proof local settings
- Users can be notified when changes are made, for audit and tracking purposes
Mutual Authentication to validate every session
Mutual authentication is a two-way security process that ensures that both devices and networks validate each other before allowing bilateral communication to take place. Telecom26 supports mutual authentication, according to GSMA and 3GPP standards in addition to standard network-based admission control. This verifies legitimacy and protects users against CSS threats (Cell Site Simulators).
Benefits
- Exceeds standard network AAA measures
- Automated, with no impact on user or devices
- Protects user devices and data from hijack and capture
Multi-Factor Authentication providing integrated layers of security
For additional security, access to the Telecom26 SIM portal can be secured via multi-factor authentication.
This involves a one-time password, with time limitations, ensuring trouble-free, secure access – and enhancing admission to the portal.
Benefits
- Additional layers of security that can be activated
- Meets industry-standard best practice
- Control and restrict access to the portal
Network Function Virtualisation for Scalable, elastic infrastructure
All network functions in the Telecom26 mobile network run as virtual appliances in a highly secure virtualised infrastructure. Dedicated infrastructure that is completely isolated from other functions can be provided on request for individual customers.
Benefits
- Obtain your own, dedicated, secure infrastructure
- Complete isolation from other active network functions and services
- Rapid integration and rollout
Secure Connectivity for end-to-end protection
A secure path between the Telecom26 core network and the customer premises can be established via VPN, MPLS or using advanced encryption, with signed certificates. This means that the data transferred cannot be intercepted or altered – and ensures that it reaches your services via a secure path.
Benefits
- Secure data transfer and transit
- Maintain data integrity
- Separate traffic and protect against DOS threats
