Why Santa needs Telecom26’s global mobile data connectivity service

20 December 2024

In last week’s blog we talked about why Santa needs a Private Network (aka NPN) - and Telecom26’s global mobile data connectivity service. In short, so that he can run a fully digitised, automated operation that covers his toy factory, warehouse and distribution centre.

Santa also needs global mobile data connectivity for his team of helpers around the world – and again Telecom26’s global mobile data connectivity service can help as he and his band of elves and reindeers move from country to country, across borders and into the most remote parts of the world.

All Santa Claus and his workers needed to do is sign up for either our ‘Grab & Go’ service or Enterprise Data Extra, then they could download one of Telecom26’s travel eSIM cards onto their devices – and they were ready to go for the big day.

When they jump on the sleigh they can be contacted day and night wherever they roam. Telecom26’s global mobile data connectivity service is available in more than 200 countries and territories reaching vast areas that other operators can’t. We have built strong relationships with our operator partners to ensure that our business is important to them - and that our traffic is prioritised even on Christmas Eve.

Santa’s logistical systems will be interconnected to allow for him to track his course in the most optimised way. Just in case they get separated, each of his reindeer could be equipped with a Telecom26 GPS tracker enabling them to be monitored from the North Pole to and from each and every house they visit.

And, we can manage their food intake on the big day. People eager to leave treats of mince pies, carrots and even a glass or two of sherry can log their locations in the Santa Portal, so the positions can be relayed to the in-flight team – and they can plan their snack breaks accordingly, as they are sent details of the festive food via instant messages through their secure Threema app! Mind you, safety first – the flow of sherry is carefully monitored...

Similarly, information regarding any changes (blocked up chimneys!) can be sent by ground control to ensure no time is lost. Meanwhile, the sleigh can easily be restocked, thanks to the efficient distribution of presents to storage facilities en route. Problems with the weather? No problem, as real-time alerts will be sent with the best course charted.

If you want to track Santa’s progress on December 24, why not check this out.

Global mobile data connectivity for business travellers

Santa isn’t the person that our team has been helping this year with their global mobile data connectivity requirements. 2024 saw Telecom26 launch two new global mobile data connectivity services for business travellers:

Our ‘Grab & Go’ service was developed following requests from our existing, and potential, business customers who can now buy time-limited, pre-paid eSIMs which enable high-speed, cost effective global mobile data connectivity for people when they are travelling abroad – for a specified period of time, so covering them for the duration of their trip.

Grab & Go complements our Enterprise Data Extra global mobile data connectivity service which you can read more about in this blog: Telecom26 makes life easier for business travellers who need fast and cost-effective connectivity with Enterprise Data Extra.

Our message to business travellers is clear: there is no need to pay the high roaming charges of your domestic operator when you are abroad or to buy a local prepaid SIM or rely on insecure wifi networks. Contact Telecom26 for a travel eSIM instead.

It’s not just Santa who needs Telecom26; large organisations moving to Telecom26’s global mobile data connectivity service

Last month we announced that a world-famous (even more than Santa!), highly-respected and influential international organisation whose people have an unusually intensive travel schedule have found their ideal solution – Telecom26’s global mobile data connectivity service.

You can read more about the challenges this organisation faced, their search for a new provider and the benefits of moving to Telecom26’s global mobile data connectivity service in this new case study.

Prestigious, high-profile international organisations like these are hard clients to win – and keep. But the team at Telecom26 is certainly doing well.  Read our earlier blog about how Financial Services Companies are also moving to Telecom26 for highly-secure global mobile data connectivity.

  • Meanwhile Owen Jones, Infrastructure Programme Manager at Ocorian Financial Services, said “Moving to Telecom26’s service has been a big win for everyone at Ocorian. The eSIMs are very easy to download and then automatically activate when users arrive in a different country. Knowing that they will have connectivity is a great relief for our business travellers.
  • All of the Telecom26 team have been very helpful, supportive and responsive. Many thanks to Telecom26 for the outstanding service”.
  • And, Santa added “staying up to date is essential – we’ve long been renowned as the most efficient delivery service in the world, but that’s no reason for standing still. With Telecom26, we’ve taken our operations to the next level – thanks to our private network at the North Pole and the global connectivity they offer. Rest assured, your presents will get through!”

Filling the gaps in your organisation’s global mobile data connectivity coverage

If you’d like to arrange to a call to discuss how our maritime connectivity, IoT and global mobile data connectivity services can connect your people and devices as they travel around the world then please get in touch.

We will be attending:

So again please get in touch if you’re also going to MWC and would like to meet-up.
